Due to the poor health care system, on return to Nigeria and resuming his role as the parish priest in Elele, Fr. Edeh provided quasi-health care by applying his skills in Medicare, which he acquired in America as he studied and obtained a professional certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education (C.P.E) at the Loyola University Medical Centre, cum Mary Ann Joy Hospital, Maywood, Illinois, USA in 1981. However, as the need grew more certified medical personnel came on board.
Today Fr. Edeh runs Madonna University Teaching Hospital Elele, the first and only private teaching hospital in Nigeria with seasoned professionals and world-class professors and experts. The hospital also offers free medication to the indigent.
