ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS
In order to perpetuate his existential and practical implementation of African Philosophy in real existential situation, through his mission of practical and effective charity Fr. Edeh , like Mother Theresa of Calcutta, have gone so far as to found some religious men and women, namely:
- The Sisters of Jesus the Saviour.
- The Fathers and Brothers of Jesus the Saviour, and
- The Contemplatives of Jesus the Saviour.
Fr. Edeh also has a number of Religious Institutes (and an association) with a dedicated army of followers through which his apostolate for peace, reconciliation, education and health are carried forward.
The Catholic Prayer Ministry (CPM) World Wide
The Pilgrimage Centre of Eucharistic Adoration, (also known as The Pilgrimage Centre of Peace and Reconciliation), Elele
They are:
(a) The Catholic Prayer Ministry (CPM) World Wide 1984:
The first of these Associations is the Catholic Prayer Ministry World Wide. It is an inclusive Association numbering some millions in its membership. Drawn from people of all walks of life, creed and gender, the CPM (as it is fondly abbreviated) seeks to carry on Christ's saving message of peace to the world. It follows the footsteps of its founder, Fr. Edeh, in its promotion of peace and reconciliation, the care of the sick, oppressed, poor and the downtrodden, irrespective of race, colour, sex or religion.
This Association which is very widely spread in Nigeria has also been established in several cities in the United States of America, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Austria.
(b) The Pilgrimage Centre of Eucharistic Adoration, (also known as The Pilgrimage Centre of Peace and Reconciliation), Elele 1985:
To carry out his peace and reconciliation ministry he founded the Pilgrimage Centre of Eucharistic Adoration, Elele. It is also referred to as the Pilgrimage Centre of Peace and Reconciliation, where thousands of people with broken hearts come and find peace and reconciliation. Elele which before the coming of Rev. Fr. Edeh was an obscure and unknown village in the bush, quickly became a household name, a famous town, a very prominent centre of Pilgrimage in modern Africa and in fact, the largest pilgrimage centre in Africa. During the monthly Pilgrimage week, which occurs in the first week of every month, all roads lead to Elele.
The Foundation Stone of this great centre was blessed by his Holiness Pope John Paul II in 1998 during his visit to Nigeria for the beatification of Fr. Tansi.
(c) The Religious Congregation of the Sisters of Jesus The Saviour (SJS):
This is a Religious Institute of Sisters in the Catholic Church, whose mission is to perpetuate Fr. Edeh's Charism and vision of peace, education, care of the sick, the poor, the handicapped and the suffering people of God in a way which only women can do best. It is principally the Sisters who run the health and social welfare Institutions though they are also heavily involved in education. The Sisters Institute has got many communities (Convents) within and outside Nigeria. Among its Convents outside Nigeria include the S]S Communities in Miami, Florida, Detroit and New York all in USA. Others are established in Germany, England, Italy and the Caribbean Islands. Founded in 1984, the Sisters are the first religious fruit of the Catholic Prayer Ministry of the Holy Spirit under Fr. Edeh.
In 1991 and 1992 respectively, Fr. Edeh founded two male religious Institutes, namely, "The Fathers and Brothers of Jesus the Saviour", and "The Contemplatives of Jesus the Saviour". These carry on his charism and his mission of peace and reconciliation in a way best suited for men.
(d) The Religious Institute of the Fathers and Brothers of Jesus the Saviour 1991:
Their mission like that of the Sisters is to carry on to the ends of the earth, Fr. Edeh's vision of peace and welfare of humanity especially through the ministry of Reconciliation, Education, Health, and holistic care for the needy: They are currently in charge of the Pilgrimage Centre and of the CPM world wide and are also involved in education.
(e) Contemplatives of Jesus the Saviour - 1992:
These are religious monks who have taken it upon themselves to spend their entire lives, on earth in seclusion praying for peace, harmony; love of God among men and reconciliation in the world. They are a hidden spiritual power house for the progress and efficacy of all Fr. Edeh's endeavours and establishments.
