For the health care of the abjectly poor and abandoned it became imperative to found a number of medical institutions to bring health care to the doorsteps of the thousands in the society who cannot help themselves.
Fr. Edeh established six categories of health and social welfare institutions, viz:
- 1 Maternity Hospital
- 1 Motherless Babies Home
- 1 Rehabilitation Centre
- 1 Specialist Diagnostic Laboratory
- 1 Medical Clinic, and
- 1 Teaching Hospital.
The health and social welfare institutions are established to take care of the various categories of the sick, suffering, handicapped, the abandoned and the rejected of the earth. All those who are cursing their fate or misfortune because of their pitiable health conditions flock to Fr. Edeh and his health Institutions. There, they are shown love, care and tenderness. They are nourished and helped to find peace and joy with themselves and radiate this joy and peace to others. In all Fr. Edeh's health Institutions consultation fee is free of charge for everybody. In addition, for the abjectly poor the entire treatment including surgery no matter how long it takes and how intricate it is, is given free of charge including supply of drugs.
